After years spent building businesses, raising a family, and navigating seasons of profound challenge, painting became more than a creative pursuit—it became a way of paying closer attention. I'm drawn to subjects caught in motion rather than at rest—a woman spinning barefoot in an oversized shirt, a loyal dog watching with quiet devotion, two hands meeting across generations, a fleeting expression that disappears as quickly as it arrives. These fragments of everyday life carry entire emotional narratives. They invite the viewer to finish the story with their own memories and experiences.

My paintings balance realism with abstraction. I build believable form through strong value relationships and expressive brushwork, allowing lost edges, unexpected marks, layered textures, and bold color to evoke feeling rather than simply describe a scene. I want the paint itself to remain visible, reminding us that beauty often lives in what is suggested rather than fully defined.
